    The LTC®4213 is an Electronic Circuit Breaker. An overcurrent circuit breaker senses the voltage across the drain and source terminals of an external N-channel MOSFET with no need for a sense resistor. The advantages are a lower cost and reduced voltage and power loss in the switch path. An internal high-side driver controls the external MOSFET gate. <p>Two integrated comparators provide dual level overcurrent protection over the bias supply to ground common mode range. The slow comparator has 16µs response while the fast comparator trips in 1µs. The circuit breaker has three selectable trip thresholds: 25mV, 50mV and 100mV. An ON pin controls the ON/OFF and resets circuit breaker faults. READY signals the MOSFET is conducting and the circuit breaker is armed. The LTC4213 operates from VCC = 2.3V to 6V. more

    The LTC1153 electronic circuit breaker drives a low cost N-channel MOSFET to interrupt power to a sensitive electronic load in the event of an over-current condition. The breaker remains tripped for a period of time set by an external timing capacitor and then is automatically reset. This cycle continues until the over-current condition is removed, protecting both the sensitive load and the MOSFET switch. The trip current, trip delay time and auto-reset period are programmable over a wide range to accommodate a variety of load impedances. An active high shut down input is also provided and interfaces directly to a PTC thermistor for thermal circuit breaking. An open-drain output is provided to report breaker status to the µP.     The LTC1235 provides complete power supply monitoring and battery control functions for microprocessor reset, battery backup, RAM write protection, power failure warning and watchdog timing. The LTC1235 has all the LTC695 features plus conditional battery backup and external reset control. When an out-of-tolerance power supply condition occurs, the reset outputs are forced to active states and the Chip Enable output write-protects external memory. The RESET output is guaranteed to remain logic low with VCC as low as 1V. External reset control is provided by a debounced push-button reset input.<p>The LTC1235 powers the active CMOS RAMs with a charge pumped NMOS power switch to achieve low dropout and low supply current. When primary power is lost, auxiliary power, connected to the battery input pin, provides backup power to the RAMs. The LTC1235 can be programmed by a µP signal to either back up the RAMs or not. This extends the battery life in situations where RAM data need not always be saved when power goes down.<p>For an early warning of impending power failure, the LTC1235 provides an internal comparator with a user-defined threshold.     MC3423: Overvoltage Crowbar Sensing Circuit

    This overvoltage protection circuit (OVP) protects sensitive electronic circuitry from overvoltage transients or regulator failures when used in conjunction with an external “crowbar” SCR. The device senses the overvoltage condition and quickly “crowbars” or short circuits the supply, forcing the supply into current limiting or opening the fuse or circuit breaker. The protection voltage threshold is adjustable and the MC3423 can be programmed for minimum duration of overvoltage condition before tripping, thus supplying noise immunity.
